I used to use googles rss reader on my google homepage but got sick of it because i had so many links added my favourite fast homepage was not fast anymore! I did some research on rss/podcast software and heres what i came up with. Firstly, I’m looking for particular software that comes has the following features: 1. Easily add RSS links quickly and sort them into categories. Also easy to update and find out when new ones come out. 2. Able to read normal rss links (with no content .mp3s etc..) and also able to read rss links with content. 3. Nice GUI (Graphic User Interface) 4. Has to be popular and updated regularly to fix bugs and add new features in the program. 5. Easy To download the .mp3/.mp4 files from the rss feed. First site i found was http://www.podcastingnews.com/topics/Podcast_Software.html Which lists all of the latest software around. I went to every software site under the windows platform to see the homepage and if they had all the features i wanted. I came up with 5 programs that passed the test and downloaded them all to try them out. 1. BitsCast 2. Doppler 3. HappyFish 4. Newzie 5. RSSRadio After about 5 minutes using of each program it became obvious some did not have the nice gui etc.. i was hoping for. I narrowed it down to the following: 1. BitsCast 2. Newzie They both had similar features but Newzie stood out with its better GUI its way of downloading the content of the feeds. Heres some screenshots:
